Taking in the Autumnal colours

Yesterday was a busy day! I help my Mum on Mondays, looking after the children and helping with the housework and cooking. I also take my sister's dogs out for a walk in the morning and I had to go to the pharmacy so I went to the local common, which is across the road. I wanted to get some photos of the Autumnal colours. I only had my phone camera and the dogs kept pulling so quite a few of the photos were blurred but I did manage to get some good ones!

Looking towards the woods from the road.

There were still a few blackberries around.

Lovely Autumnal colours.

Evergreen against Deciduous.

There were lots of lovely berries, I didn't manage to to get a photo of the bushes covered in orange and red berries though.

I love the green and yellow together.

Brown leaf litter.

I like this purple/red leaf.

It's been a bit of a funny week, my nan has been unwell and I haven't heard about anything else all week! It's been draining. My other nan had a small heart attack on Saturday but is home now and seems to be ok.

I hope you've all had a good week.

In the garden...

I spent some time in the garden today, taking some photos and enjoying the warm sun. I thought I would share these with you.

Vapour lines from the planes.

There were three of these holes dug in the garden and this one with a poo by it. I'm not sure what is making these holes, maybe a hedgehog?

Lots of mushrooms by the climbing frame.

I have had a look in my Fungi book, these look like Fairy Ring Champignon. Any other suggestions?

I really like this photo with the small water drops on the grass, the first time I looked at it I didn't even see the water drops.

I know this one is blurred and the focus is on the grass in the foreground but I quite like it.

Upside down!

I wonder what's been eating this one.

I saw this red leaf and, at first, I thought it was a moth but on closer inspection I realised it was a leaf!

I hadn't looked up behind the shed so I didn't know this fence had come down. Part of it was already broken, now it's all broken!

There were quite a few windfall apples so I made an apple bird feeder with some and kept the best ones to make a crumble tomorrow.

I'd put some twine under each apple because they kept falling down, then I realised I could of put pegs on instead. I think they make good bird stands. Although, I think if a pigeon lands on it, it will all fall down! There haven't been many birds coming into the garden recently.

I'm enjoying watching Autumnwatch, it's just a shame it's only on for four days. I love seeing all the different wildlife.

All the fun of the fair!

Yesterday, at about 4.30pm, we went up to the fair on the local common. Masons Funfair has come here every September for about the last five years, it's only a small fair and is never really busy. The children went on about five rides and they loved it! I took my niece on the Ferris Wheel and she said to me "We're going to the top, don't get frightened!" Here is the view from the top.

It started to feel really cold by about 5pm, Autumn is definitely setting in now. When we had finished at the fair we picked some more blackberries as there are lots all around the common. We picked loads, more than enough for a crumble which I'll make tomorrow afternoon.

I bought a new printer yesterday, a wireless one so I can print from the iPad as well as the the laptop. My nan wants some photos printed so I have been looking for photo paper but I can't find it very cheap!

Strictly Come Dancing started last night with the première show, the series starts in three weeks and I'm really looking forward to it! I didn't enjoy it so much last year so hopefully I will get into it this year.

You may have noticed I have added an "About me" page on here, I haven't written anything on it yet but I'm working on it! I have also started doing the 365 Project and hope to add a page for it but more about that in the near future.

I haven't really done any crocheting for a while so I need to get back into it and post some photos for you to see.

Here's hoping you all have a lovely week!

Hello September

It's hard to believe that we are in September already and I have been unemployed for a year, it's a long time but it doesn't feel like that long. I don't seem to have had that much time to look for work, with helping people out and caring for my nan. I will have to focus more on job hunting in the next few months, although, it has been quite nice having time to myself, especially not having to work over Christmas!

Again, I haven't been out and about much this week. I did take this picture of the clouds on Friday, I like to see the shapes they make.

I'm looking forward to Autumn TV in the coming few months. I think I watch too much TV, but why not while I can! These are the programmes I'm most looking forward to:

I hope you all have a lovely week and all goes well if you have children going back to/starting school! My niece starts school on Thursday.

A quiet week

So, what has been happening the last week or so... Well, not much really! I have been feeling quite tired and haven't had much energy or motivation to do anything over the last week so I don't have much to write about this week.

I'm typing this on my new laptop, I'm finding it much easier to type than on the iPad. I'm not so sure about Windows 8 but you can easily switch to the desktop, just like in previous Windows versions.

I haven't really been taking many pictures over the last few weeks but I did manage to take some yesterday. When I was putting the washing out I saw a large bee on the tree, covered in pollen but I didn't have my camera outside, when I came back out with my camera the bee had gone! Later on, I took my camera out and managed to get a few photos.

This is the tree, I'm not sure what it is though. I like the shadows of the washing!

The flower close up.

I like this one from underneath the plant, I was trying to get the ladybird but it's a bit too dark.

Autumn is definitely in the air now, it's sad to say goodbye to Summer so soon. Although we've had some really nice weather, it doesn't really feel like we've had much of a Summer.

I hope you've all had a lovely week.
