Such a busy week...

This week has been so busy and I haven't had time to write until now. I have been helping out with my niece and nephew and the new arrival for most of the week. We had my nieces birthday party here yesterday so it was a long day but I didn't get a chance to take any photos of the party.

Although it was a busy week I did manage to get to hobbycraft and buy some wool and it was on a 3 for 2 offer. I haven't been able to do any crocheting this week but I'm hoping to do a granny stripe blanket like this one from BunnyMummy and I have ten colours of wool.

I will post an update when I get started!

I have enjoyed seeing the garden come to life this week, with the arrival of lots of tulips and the flowers blooming in the rockery. I bought some flowers from the garden centre on Friday and I'm hoping to pot them up later on today. I will try to remember to take some photos to put into my next post.

I have got another busy week coming up with visiting friends, helping with the children and we are going to Legoland tomorrow for my nieces birthday!

New arrival...

I woke up this morning to a text message from my sister, saying she had had a baby boy in the early hours of the morning! I'm now officially an Aunty to three and unofficially an Aunty to two!

I gave my pink practice crochet square to my niece, she said she wanted it for her doll, it must be a small doll!
Here is my practice granny stripe, it looks ok but a bit messy at the corners and I ran out of wool.

I have started a blue practice square now, I think I will carry on with this for a bit and then maybe start on a granny stripe blanket.

The 19th April was primrose day, my nan says she has never planted any primroses in the garden but we have a few of patches of them dotted around.

I keep messing about with layout of this blog, changing colours and photos but I'm still not 100% happy with it but it will do for now.

My week so far

It's been a pretty quite week so far. On Monday I saw a slow worm while picking my niece up from play group, it's the first one I've seen for ages.

We also took some pictures of blossom and a yellow flower, I'm not sure of the name. The two close ups of the blossom are a bit blurred as I used my phone camera.

Yesterday I made some cakes to use up some out of date eggs. They are yummy!

I saw a new flower in the garden at the weekend, I wasn't sure what it was but on the BunnyMummy blog there is a similar one.

My crochet practice is coming on well! My square is getting a bit bigger but still looks lopsided! I have started practicing granny stripe too, I'm following the pattern from the Attic24 blog. Eventually I would like to be able to make a granny stripe blanket, like this one from BunnyMummy. I'm still finding it hard to hold the crochet hook properly but guess it just takes practice to get it right.

Hello and welcome...

Hello and welcome to my first post. This is a blog about me! I'm 31 and a carer for my nan so I might use this as a place to vent when I'm having a hard day or just post about everyday things. I'm hoping to put some photos up too, I only really use the camera on my phone so the photos aren't always brilliant.

I'm quite new to blogging but having been reading some over the past few months.

I looked at the Bunnymummy blog as I have just started doing some crocheting and the blog has lots of great ideas. I'm just practising at the moment but hopefully I will be able to make something soon!
Here is my first square...looks a bit lopsided!

It's been a bit of a hard weekend so I thought I would put up this picture of Weymouth beach, which is one of my favourite places. This was taken in 2008 when I was on holiday there with my friend, her two children and my sister.

Well, that's all for this first post. Happy reading!
